It all began when a French newspaper reported that the former movie star had undergone surgery and spent three weeks in a hospital to treat a serious illness.
Days later, a gossip page run by influencer Aniss Zitouni claimed to have “exclusive information” about Bardot’s alleged death.
A week after news about her health appeared in the media, the actress used the X platform to dispel rumors of her passing.
“I don’t know which idiot spread this fake news tonight about my death, but rest assured, I’m fine,” she wrote in her post. “And I have no intention of saying goodbye. A word to the wise.”
Her representatives also confirmed to the French news agency AFP that she had returned home to recover after undergoing a “minor surgery.”

Bardot began her career in 1952 and gained international recognition with films such as “And God Created Woman” by Roger Vadim and “Contempt” by Jean-Luc Godard, among others.
The actress, who announced her retirement in 1973, is now known for her work as an animal rights activist.
